Appearance. Pours essentially black but clear with a decent tan head.

This is probably the most successful dark coconut ale I've ever had. To many of the others had minimal (or less) coconut aroma and/or flavor. This one has plentiful coconut in both the flavor and the aroma. It's accompanied by some sweetness up front but this fades as more bitter dark roasted grains appear, eventually dominating the mildly bitter aftertaste. There are hints of chocolate and coffee here as well as a faint hint of burnt toast.

Mouthfeel. Very smooth, full body with well set light carbonation.
