i really didnt care for many of the beers in here, they all had this certain sort of astringency that was more or less obvious in each of them, it stood out more in the lighter styles like this one, and it was a somewhat disappointing experience, kind as the folks were and mellow as the place was, the beer just isnt there for me. this one felt a little sharp, had a soapy nose and taste to it, and an almost chemical element going on. it sort of has a corny grain thing going on, and the lightness of a cream ale or something, but its not crisp in the finish because the fermentation isnt clean. im sure they werent trying to get yeast character in a simple blonde type beer like this, but its really what ends up defining this one. light as can be in body, but there really isnt a lot of flavor in it, lightly crackery and dry, with perhaps a cooler fermentation temperature and better carbonation it could be a hot weather refresher, but its messy right now and really needs some refining, as do many of the others we tried in here. it is oddly alcoholic too, exposed in an unflattering way.

Appearance: Hazy yellow glass holds a finger of white rocky head that laces the glass.

Aroma: Yeasty with a sulfur edge and some underlying sweetness peeking through.

Taste: A slight metallic bitter hop note serves as a counter balance to the sweet grainy base that finishes with some citric notes of grapefruit and lime peel.

Mouthfeel: Sudsy, high carbonation in a medium body that goes a bit frothy but has enough depth to carry it off. A little gritty texture and a slightly dry finish.

Overall: A bit big to be a Blonde Ale, lots of hops and lots of base make this a tasty brew, but not the easy drinking lawnmower I expect in a Blonde. There are some flavors that don't do it for me personally, but I'm hard pressed to call them flaws, just differences of preference. A good introduction to the brewery, a blonde is one of the toughest beers to make. I'll be looking to try more.

Had it at my University pub on draft

L: It is a pretty golden color, not much head.

S: Smells sweet, with hints of malt and hops. I has a slight alcohol smell

T: It tastes of malt and a slight hint of hops. It's a bit sweet. The hop bitterness prevents the sweetness from being too coying.

F: It is a light to medium body brew, smooth mouthfeel. Easy to drink.

O: I liked this beer, its a bit too sweet, but would go great with savory food. It's a fun drink, but if you like your beer stronger, or with more hoppy freshness try something else.

On tap at County Line BBQ in San Antonio

This was an easily drinkable beer with no flaws and also nothing that stood out in a positive way. Pleasant but forgettable.
