330 mL bottle poured into a straight-sided glass.
Appearance - Pours a hazy amber body. Nice off-white head. Settles slowly to a layer of foam and then to a medium collar.
Smell - Bananas. Very phenolic. Caramel malt. Some musty pine hop, but it's faint.
Taste - Up front is mostly phenolic banana. Then a light hop flavor, but it's indistinct. Toasted bready malt flavor. Gets sweeter into the finish with a balancing bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium heavy for an amber ale. Creamy body. Medium low carbonation.
Overall - The phenols are odd for the style, but not a deal breaker. I didn't have any trouble finishing it.
