First off, it has potatoes and beans, so that's new.
Dark amber, big fluffy white head with decent retention.
Some nice smokiness on the nose, like burnt wood, even some lesser peat whiffs. A yeasty sourness too, either it's infected, or it's supposed to smell that way (it's weirdly funky, too), nothing would surprise me.
Really sour up front, like squeezed lemon, cringe-worthy at first, but you get used to it. Faint apple and apricot, otherwise a dry earthy flavor, surely because of the extra ingredients, but they are not that clear and obvious. A deep smokiness too, hinting at bacon, but more like smoked dry hay, faintly woody. Some hop to go along with that in the finish, mildly bitter.
The sourness goes away just before the finish, so the aftertaste is just earthy and smoky. Pretty long, too. Medium body, medium carbonation.
If it weren't for that sourness, it would've been a really neat little gem. It's just interesting. Hopefully it's just a bad bottle.
