A quaffable brown ale for all seasons. Malty, smooth, roasty brown ale, with a light sweetness in the finish. Brewed with our house British ale yeast. Closer to a porter than an amber.

Undated 12 oz can from SC in a lager glass.
Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, moderate size head that has good retention.
This is relatively hoppy compared to, say, a typical English brown, and the flavor is bolder since there's no shortage of roasted grains but, instead, a more generous addition of hops.

Sampled a pint of this with dinner at Hanks Seafood in downtown Charleston. The beer arrives in my pint glass with a rich chestnut color and minimal beige lacing. May have had more head at the pour but it has faded by arrival to me.
Aroma is nutty malt with some caramel and toffee and a little bit of brown sugar. Not really any hop quality at this point, seems solid for a brown ale.
First sip reveals an average body with fine and tingly carbonation. texture is smooth and the beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is malt just as the nose advertises. I get roasted notes and again toffee and a bit of brown sugar. But the big flavor note is a nutty almond or walnut character that lingers after each swallow. I dont get any hop character on the flavor and any booze is well hidden too.
this is a nice brown ale that nails the flavor profile and is very drinkable, I will look this one up again next time I visit Charleston. You should too!

On tap at Craft& Draft
Mahogany with a little light escaping and tan highlights. Slight tan head. Spotty lacing
Faint nut and char aromas.
Very nice nutty flavor, remote char note, faint coffee.
Medium bodied, bitter aftertaste, good for a few.
Dry for a brown beer, a nice changeup

On-tap at Barony Tavern, Charleston, SC
A: The beer is hazy brown in color—just some specks of brownish amber are visible near the bottom edge of the glass. It poured with a quarter finger high dark beige head that died down, leaving a thick coating of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of nutty and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of nutty and roasted malts along with a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This brown ale seems to be a little drier compared to other beers in the style, but has nice nutty and malty flavors.
Serving type: on-tap
