Brewed in March 2015 with Upland Brewing. Fermented with a low-ester yeast then moved to Pinot Nior barrels for nine months where we introduced a mix of yeast and various bacteria. After nine months in wine barrels we moved the beer to our 30-barrel oak foeder with 1300 lbs of Louisiana Mayhaws for an additional 3 months before bottling. Release April 9, 2016.

750ml brown bottle, sample from the brewery.
Vibrant amber hue, lots of bubbles which produces an incredibly long lasting lace. This funk spiked "golden ale" is aged in multiple types of wood and a generous amount of Mayhaws ... think somewhere between a mellow cranberry and a wild apple. Lots of wood action here, crisp carbonation with a bite. Tartness from the fruit and funk, a bit of cellar flavor within. Smells of a scrumpy cider yet tastes like a fruited funk beer. Refreshing drying finish makes me want to drink more and more of this.
Easily one of the most drinkable funky sours I've ever tried, well done Great Raft and Upland!!

Another stellar job from Great Raft. I would call this a homerun attempt at their first sour.
This and You me and everyone we know went tip for tap for me, with Come What getting the nod.
Looking forward to future releases!

A: Poured into a tulip to a deep gold topped by a three finger cream colored head that retains well and leaves decent lacing.
S: Smells of sourdough bread with some sourness and what I'm guessing is mayhaw. Nice wine barrel influence as well as some slight funk
T: Taste is tartness up front with some nice sour fruit character(Mayhaw?), a little funk as well with some oak with some sour lemon juice. There's some bready malt at times as well. Swallow is more mayhaw, slight funk, and oak with some lingering tartness.
M: This beer is medium in body with slightly prickly carbonation and a dry finish.
O: Overall this is a pretty good first attempt for a sour. It's miles ahead of some others but it doesn't quite have the complexity of something from Russian River, The Bruery or Rare Barrel. It'll be interesting to see what the next project tastes like.

Light amber that is hazy. Look is nice and has an orang brown look to it
Smell and taste are fantastic. Mayhaw is fairly strong with a juicy sweet cherry like note. It has a light tartness to it and the sweetness is a bit cherry syrup like but not sugary. Tart note is present but mild. Light oak notes around the edges. Pinto noire berry notes mix with the mayhap but manage to remain somewhat distinct.
Body is good. A little syrupy but a nice medium body on the heavy side. Biting carbonation adds a nice texture to it. Pretty good.
A very good sour with nice notes. It's sweet and tart but they balance each other to create a drinkable beer.

Smell is fantastic.
Taste follows with balanced medium sourness, woody tannins, and musty funk. The mayhaw comes through as tart cranberry/rhubarb and apple skin.
Overall very well balanced. The oak def lets itself be known. Nice dry finish. Impressive, unique American sour. Very much lambic-esque.

Poured into a taster glass.
A: An opaque pinkish with off-white one finger head that slowly dissipates. Foamy lacing.
S: Funky, fruity, oaky with a hit of pinot noir and what I take to be mayhaw.
T: Sweet/sour funkiness over oaky, wine-y, mayhaw goodness. Very nice.
M: Low to medium with thin to medium carbonation.
O: Great Raft has done it again! These guys keep surprising Louisiana and those of us lucky to get bottles with new and innovative tastes. A great Wild Ale. Sour, funky and fun.

Wow... what an outstanding beer from a great brewery with such a young sour program. Pours a beautiful amber with a hint of red. Get the usual funk and oak on the nose with some tart mayhaw lingering in the background. The taste is all and more than you'd expect. The fruit shines through the wild funk and is rounded out by the oak. A truly amazing and unique beer.
