A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and rocky cream colored head that fades slowly and leaves decent lacing
S: Smells of spicy rye with a little fruitiness. Hints of roasted malt with a little coffee as well.
T: Taste is spicy rye up front with some fruity notes along with some roasted malts, coffee, and lightly charred wood. The finish on this beer is more spicy rye notes and fruitiness with some lingering roasted malts and slightly oily hops.
M: This beer has a medium body with carbonation that is a little prickly. The beer has a drying finish as well.
O: Overall this isn't a bad beer. The rye malt definitely makes itself well known by providing those nice spice and fruit notes. They play pretty well with the other malts in the grain bill to make this a unique drinking experience. I don't know if I'll seek this out again but it was a neat experience.
