Poured from can into tulip, scan 1 finger dark tan head, fades pretty quick to a pool across the top. Jet black in the glass, looks like used motor oil. Smells of chocolate nibs, cocoa, slight vanillin, an a little roast character. Taste follows the nose, good chocolate, roast and good malt sweetness barrel shows up in the middle, some vanillin and oak and it finishes out with an almost creamy slightly bitter finish. Not hot, smooth. Will let it warm a little, but this isn't a big boozy beer, it has a good barrel character without going over the top, nice job
