Lion up, this American Wheat Ale is a collaboration between Southeastern Louisiana University and Gnarly Barley Brewing founders, Zac & Cari Caramonta, who are SLU Alumni. Lion Up is crisp and refreshing with a nice floral note from the use of Amarillo hops making this an easy drinking beer, great for football season!

Lion Up has a very thick, mousse-like, off-white head, a hazy, yellow-gold, fiercely-bubbly appearance, and heavy glass lacing. This ale clouds up, following the "swish & pour". Aroma is of yeasty, lemony, spiced, white bread, and the flavor is of those elements, with some zest. Bitterness is relatively strong. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Lion Up finishes mostly dry. This beer seems to be overly bitter.
