This medium-bodied lager has a rich golden malt profile with a base of Pilsner Malt balanced perfectly with Munich and Vienna. A light breadiness and a dash of caramel on the front end finish up with a delicate palate of scrubbing effervescence and no lingering bitterness.

12 fl oz pull-tab can:

Sweet and bready, lacking the crisp clean mouthfeel one would want in a festbier.
A bit warm alcohol-wise, reducing its drinkability

Not a brew I'd want to quaff by the litre, and isn't that the point of a festbier?

Gnarly Barley Festbier has a thick, soapy, off-white head, and an opaque, copper appearance, with splotchy lacing. The aroma is of sweet, brown bread crust. The flavor is similar, with low bitterness. Gnarley Barley Festbier has a high-medium body and a semi-dry finish. This is clearly a marzen and not a festbier.
