Bad Abbot is a gentle beast, coming in at 14% but drinking with an unexpected docility. Fruity esters on the nose give way to malty overtones of caramel and raisin that clean up into a surprisingly dry finish. The medium body enhances the nuanced sugars, avoiding a cloying or syrupy finish, instead portraying a pleasing array of dark fruits and molasses. A delicate pathway paved with secrets, where good intentions meld with desire.

Pours a dark burgundy color small tan head falls to a ring, red by lots of rising bubbles.
Aroma is vinous notes, on a sweet molasses base with raisins, plums loads of brown sugars. Light vanilla, wood notes underneath.
Taste not quite up to the nose, nice sugary base with molasses hints, brown sugars, dark fruits. Underneath it vanilla, wood, vinous notes. Light alcohol warming after a while, just not quite there even though it smells like it is.
Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation might be a touch to much.
Overall not bad, since reason hard to pull off this style in the states and get the same complexity. That being said it's not a bad little quad for Louisiana.
