Gnarly Barrel Select No. 1 has a very thin, off-white head and a clear, ruby-red-brown appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of strong bourbon and some brown bread crust. The flavor is similar, with candy corn, pancake syrup, and sugar. Bitterness is low. Gnarly Barrel Select No. 1 has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish.
