Rich milk chocolate notes with subtle hints of caramel and nougat and dangerously smooth.

Taster at brewery. Near black pour, thin ring of beige head. Roasty aroma, malty, ashy. Taste is sweet, roasty malts, light coffee and chocolate. Very smooth.

It starts with a pint can's contents emptied into a clear glass liter mug. The biege head is a little bit foamy, but this is being tried at room temperature. Beneath the biege is a liquid just as one would expect from a porter. It's black coffee brown and bright, but totally opaque in regular light. The roasted malt aroma gives a remarkable reference to chocolate for the nose. But, that aspect is subdued within the taste; subdued, not absent. It tastes good, but not complexly. Maybe a little more chocolate character there would help, but maybe not. This is what it is and it isn't bad. The ABV is barely noticed and contributes to the taste rather than distracts. Admittedly, a 7.5 % ABV runs to the low side of an Imperial anything. Once receded, a bit of the head endures, although there's almost no glass lacing. The body runs a little light for a porter, but some may perfer that to a thicker feel. Overall, this is very nice, but not outstanding.

Had at the Applebee's in Seaford DE. Poured on draft in a pint glass. Pours a dark Carmel color with little head and mild lacing. Tastes of roasted malts like a porter with earthy tones and mild alcohol taste in the back end. For a imperial Porter it is very good and drinkable

Praetor Imperial Porter on cask with Cascade Hops on tap at Wood Pizza in Lewes De.
Looks black and hoppy, smells of lactose and roastiness and grass. Tastes of chicory, ripe fruits, raisin and a tad of sweetness, cheap powder cocoa and a bit of funk. Burnt oatmeal cookies. Spice and gingerbread. It is a bit doughy and it goes well with the thick pizza we had.
The mouthfeel is right for the style, light and low carbonation, damn-right warm temperature and a chill finish. Woodsy overtones. However, it lacks complexity.
Overall, this imperial porter is drinkable

HAd on draft at a restaurant. Very nice roasty characteristics with no overpowering sweetness making it taste like my idea of a porter. One of the cleanest porters I have ever had.
