Sour! Like jamming a handful of SweeTarts® into your mouth. Although I expected some essence of currant in stout or even a forward-facing sweet currant as in a Kir Royale, this fruity bitter was a smack in the mouth with no distinguishable beer flavour whatsoever. I didn't know any flavour could overwhelm a stout, but that surely happened here.
