I got a late start on NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I promised that NBS (Week 775) & now, Week 776, would be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride! That last one kind of put me off of Maryland, at least for the moment, so it's time to visit some of the other victims, I mean, honorees.

From the CAN: "Berliner Weisse Style Beer Brewed with Mango and Orange"; "14 years on the force had left Paul sour. Tuskings and polar bear violence had become a part of his daily routine, just like putting on his Members Only jacket. Weiss City recognizes his experience with a tart, fruit, wheat beer. At 4.5% ABV, the time has come for this bodacious beverage."; "Designed By: Tom Ryan's Studio Artist Est. 2010".

Once again, when faced with a wheat-driven beer, some in-CAN agitation was in order, preceding the Crack! of the vent. Why?, you might ask. Fair dinkum. Wheat beers are known to be cloudy & as such, I like to ensure that any/all flocculate is back in suspension. I CANtinued with a heavy-handed inverted C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass to help CANtinue this trend. I got a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head for my trouble. 8=( Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was lightly tart, somewhat lemony, but nowhere near the first batches put out by Brandon Greenwood at Nodding Head in PHL back ~ 20 years ago. Those cried out for syrups where this seems approachable, at least from the nose. Mouthfeel was kinda thin & watery, about on par for the style. The taste was definitely tart, very lemony, but not requiring either woodruff or raspberry syrup, IMHO. That said, I was glad to have taken an antacid tab earlier, between this & my pork & sauerkraut supper. I think that a couple/few of these & heartburn might really set in. I liked the light puckering of my lips after each sip. I have had some that were so intense that I beCAN to wonder if I was drinking liquid alum. Again, this was an approachable interpretation of the style. Finish was tart & dry & it might be a nice thirst-quenching Summer beer. YMMV.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/18/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with poor retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mango, orange juice, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, mango, oranges, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big mango, orange juice, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of mango, orange juice, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, mango, oranges, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium -high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an awesome fruited Berliner weisse! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, mango, oranges, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Extremely juicy fruits with balanced Lacto complexity, and a solid pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. A perfect sour for summer.

Drinking this one fresh, late May can date. The mild sour nose belies the true fruity nature of this beer. Very fruity, tart, mango definitely evident, hint of grain, sweet finish. Body is very light, the only thing that gives me some pause in drinking this is the tartness. Total summer crusher beer. Wish I could get it up in CT.
