Pours inky black and looks thick. Small dark khaki head is super slow to form but lingers. No lacing.
Bourbon, peppers, and caramel on the nose. Complements of vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, and oak.
Chile pepper is the most prominent flavor followed by the bourbon. Milk chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Roasted malt, light and sweet. Hints of licorice, molasses, and raisin.
Semi-thick mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Heat from the peppers but not super spicy. Nice sweetness to balance without being syrupy or cloying. Just a bit of boozy warmth.
A standout beer. Big flavors, perfect balance, and just the right amount of pepper.
