An awesome find, unadvertised and on cask @ Sockeye for St. Patrick's Day - served in a pint glass no less.
A: Black with a nice tan cap considering this beer is warm and un-carbonated.
S: Vanilla, caramel and toffee are all apparent; not in-your-face with booze but with plenty of whiskey sweetness for sure. There are nice notes of chocolate from the base beer, and hints of brown sugar and even maple wood.
T: More of the same; milk chocolate, vanilla, and caramel, with Irish whiskey notes of toffee and barrel wood. Spice and coconut as well. Finish isn't as flavorful as I would have hoped though, this could have been amazing with a bit bigger body.
MF: On the lighter side. Medium? Honestly a bit watery in the feel.
O: I enjoyed this one, definitely a lighter barrel aged beer. This was only about a 5% abv beer to start off with, and a bit more malt body would have lent to more complete flavors and aromas. The Jameson is a nice touch though, especially for St. Patrick's Day.
