look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
Pours a clear deep amber.. off white head with no real retention or lacing.. Nose shows pretty sharp whiskey, no refinement at all... Maltiness is secondary with light caramel and a decent amount of dry dark toast.. not really complex, instead very disjointed. Flavor seems thin for a wee heavy, not as much complex maltiness nor palate heaviness as I hope for. Okay.. I've had this a few times now and it seems to be getting a little bit better every time.
