A fine example of the style, this tripel Belgian has three times the malt of a Trappist simple. It has the essence of clove, and banana on the nose with a smooth, spicy sweet finish. A portion of this beer was transferred out of the fermenter and aged in fresh chardonnay barrels from Indian Creek Winery. We then blended it to the original batch and came out with additional notes of oak and vanilla, with a subtle wine characteristic that lends well to the style. It was brewed to celebrate the third anniversary of one of Boise best craft beer bottle shops and local beer supporters, Bier:Thirty Bottle and Bistro. Cheers, Friends. Delicious and superb.

On tap at PreFunk. Chardonnay barrels add a nice touch to this tripel, some extra fruitiness. Clear and in assuming. Could use a little extra tripel body and head. Aroma is pure grain tinged with a little grape fruitiness. Slick and sweet, extra sweetness from the barrels for sure. Nice overall body and taste.
