This is a nice IPA. Had at Sockeye Brewery in Meridian, ID. Very floral and balanced. Didn’t get much pineapple, but a variety of fruits. I would get this again.

the name and style alone should sell the crap out of this one, a pineapple version of the hottest style in the country right now, come on! well, im glad i went for a small pour of this and not a whole one, as names and titles can be deceiving. this is the least impressive sockeye beer i have had in some time, and seems a bit of a gimmick to me. the pineapple is crazy in the nose, white lifesaver candy all the way for me, fake and cheap, but sweet and appealing too, especially with a nice hop profile coming through in the nose. its not what i hoped it would be, but its not unattractive at all, im into it so far. the taste starts fine too, like a jolly rancher fruit cocktail of sorts, the green and the red, and was there a white one too? its kind of sweet, a little plastic, but good in the way we as kids liked those push up tubed popsicles you bought at the club grocery stores in boxes of like 500. not good, but a time and a place you know? it all of a sudden in the middle though turns way too intense, and takes on a more medicinal and fake property, while the hop bitterness ramps up, and on the swallow it leaves my tongue feeling like i just licked a live battery. i still dont hate it, there are elements i really like, i think the hop profile is cool, especially in the nose, and i think it screams for pineapple, i just wish it was more natural and less cheap tasting. good bubbles to this, not real heavy, and a few steps from being really nice. no way this is real fruit, that would be a start...
