On-tap at the Brewery in Boise ID, served in a snifter.
A: Clear dark amber with a fluffy and creamy off-white head.
S: Traditional amber ale notes of biscuit and grains, earthy and piney hopping.
T: Follows the nose with caramelly malt and sweet biscuit, offset by a decent traditional hop profile than leans in with a touch of bitterness in the form of pine and citrus rind. Malt sweetness carries the brew but there are faint impressions of a wood and even Scotch whiskey. No real alcohol presence though.
MF: Creamy, smooth, and full.
O: Just fine for an Imperial Red - nothing too special, but enjoyable.
