another variant of their sunbeam done with fruit and the milkshake treatment served on cask, so cool that they are doing these styles in this format, but the huckleberry is perfumey to me here, unnatural and quite intense, it comes at the expense of the hops, and for that reason i prefer the strawberry version, which they have had on and off for a little while now. if they used real fruit in this i would be surprised, its just over the top and there is no color at all. that said, its still cool beer, smooth as heck from the cask, almost nitro looking, and with the richest creamy feel, no sign of its alcohol strength, and appealing flavors, just not ideal proportions. the fruit takes over a bit, or rather a lot, potpourri and floral elements i dont associate with real huckleberries, lavender or something. a hint of vanilla but it could be the lactose residual, and the hops seem almost secondary, its generous to call this ipa, but there is citrus to the finish that i like a lot, but give me a little bitterness here. with this level of intensity of added flavor, its a novelty, a one and done, which is a shame because the cask conditioning part is awesome, professional and on point, i think i want just the base sunbeam on cask. cool to try and objectively well done, but over flavored for my tastes...
