delicious new imperial red here served on nitro, cool beer for holiday time, nice and strong, even a little dangerous being so smooth and drinkable, a great addition to their lineup. nice clarity on this, a pretty brick red color, high shine, missed the cascade but there is a fat inch of white cream head on it from the nitro, looks awesome in their sharp new pint glasses. the nose here is a little muted as we often find in nitro beers, but i smell some orangey hops on the back and and a toasted richness to the grain, not overly complex or anything. the flavor is real bold compared to the nose, hoppy all the way through, a little peppery and spicy early on, then more of a candied citrus thing later with some good pithy bitterness and fresh pine, awesome. the malt is nutty and not as sweet as it smells, a little honey note to it, actually kind of modest for the style, a hint of graham cracker in the mix, baked biscuits, and toffee. it comes together well, the ferment is clean, and the body isnt that heavy for how strong it is. the alcohol is pretty well hidden until it warms up, and even then its not major. so smooth from the nitro, an awesome format for a beer like this. very solid execution here, a strong hoppy red on nitro, festive and different, loved it!
