Got the growler fill tonight for a pricey $14.50... but I can't complain too much.
Tannish sorta yellowish head.. slightly haze brown brew... okay lacing for the entire glass.
Nose shows good hoppiness with a pretty pronounced nutty and toasty malt profile... hops are sorta piney but get blown out by the crispy malts... interesting.
Good bitterness up front almost immediately give way to a dryish toasty malt flavor... even a bit of chocolate.. but really more toasty and nutty than anything.. lingering mildly resinous and a bit oily hoppy finish combines with the malts for a pretty unique brew.
Body is a lite medium ... carbonation may be a little light, but I don't think the girl who filled the growler tightened it down all the way... as the cap was definitely crooked.
BTW.... if you work at Sockeye and are reading this, change to metal growler caps, those plastic ones suck. :-)
Really a pretty good beer across the board... the malts get to be a bit much about 1/2 way through my second glass... but I will soldier on.
