12oz can from Boise Co-op. Hazy golden pour, fizzy white head. Light citrusy aroma, grapefruit. Taste is subdued grapefruit, faint piney notes. Some in this series have been great, this one is so-so

12oz can pours out more coppery than straw-colored...clear with a cap of off-white head. Bready and floral with some light impressions of Citra tropical fruitiness and a touch of piney grapefruit, but this is just not a hoppy brew. I know its an American pale, but I just assume every time I try one of this series that Sockeye is trying for a more expressive hoppiness, especially since this one is supposed to be 'double' Citra (whatever that means). All of these I've tried in this series (Galaxy, Sabro, Simcoe) overall have been balanced pale ales with a clean body and a bready malt component and only marginal hop expression; drinkable and even refreshing and enjoyable, but not special.
