May 2017: 330 ml can, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 6.4%, IBU 55. Hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, citrus fruits and earthy hops. The flavour is first malty but not too sweet, with hints of rye bread, then citrussy and earthy hops come forward. Medium bitter finish. A fairly decent winter ale.

From a can - not my normal method of dispense.
Clear, light auburn with a deep frothy head.
Sweet, grassy hop aroma with tropical fruit.
Unexpectedly earthy flavour. A bitterness which lingers.
Quite thin.

Fourpure – Northern Latitude
Winter Ale – 6.4% - 330ml can – Best Before April 2016

Appearance: Dark brown with a deep red hue. Big 3 finger, just off white, head. Head only hung around for all of about 2 minutes. Some lacing left on glass.
Aroma: American, citrusy hops and not much else. Very slight tinge of malt.

Taste: American hops dominating again here but there is the brown sugar and sweet malt flavour just lurking in the background.

Mouth feel: Quite thin bodied considering it's ABV. Dry in the finish.

Overall: It's funny, I had this one at Christmas and thought it was quite good but I have to say this time around, it’s piss-poor and it was the same situation with the last can I had from Fourpure (bear tooth). I'm wondering if they should shorten their best before dates as this has been stored in optimal conditions and has not passed its date. According to their website "The malt character is complex, with the use of 8 different malts with a refreshingly spicy finish from the rye malt." but complex is not a word I would use to describe this hoppy watery mess.
