Had the Herrenhaeuser Premium Pilsener at Waldgasthaus Entenfang, Hannover, Germany, on draft into 1/2-liter mug.

When I tried to order a hefe, the waiter asked if I didn't want the local beer, "the world's greatest beer."

A solid pilsener, especially served up in half-liters in a Hannover biergarten.

This beer is unique as it has a good and bad side. The bad side is initially bitter and distasteful. However, the good side gives the beer a superb aftertaste and an unexplainable craving for more. It takes some getting used to, but in the end, it is a great choice.

33cl bottle poured into Willibecher

BBE 27 Nov 2011

A- Golden body with excellent clarity. 2 finger head has good retention as well as some nice lacing.

S- Minimal, faint hop note.

T- Never really gets going, a hint of pils malt with a hop bite threatening but never comes through really. Shame

M- Medium body and carbonation, crisp.

D- Looks good and has a nice mouthfeel. Just lacks a definite hop character of a good pils.

Having this since I am 14 years old. Even though I moved away it still is a delight having drinking it. I love the subtle, yet up front hops and the full-bodied malt.

Good on sunny day after doin the lawn, good for a barbeque, good on any day...i guess this has become part of my life.

Ordinary lager with a hoppy start, medium body and malty finish. Pours golden straw, forms a modest creamy head. Smells good, and it's the smell that makes Herrenhauser's taste a bit disappointing. Too mild for my liking, but well-made. I believe they don't use rough stuff like corn or rice for brewing. Recommended where there's no better lager available. Certainly preferrable to cheap mass-market products.

This poured to a light golden yellow with a small head that fades quickly and doesn't leave lace.

The smell isn't bad, but seems to be a little bit off the mark. The taste is mainly of light malts and hops up front with a mild hop punch in the end. It's pretty crisp. The mouthfeel is a little sharp, but the drinkability is still fine.
