Horchata Porter brewed by Ensenada Brewing Co., With an ABV of 6.00% This American Porter pours out a nice deep brown color with a nice off white head. This brew has the look of coffee, not saying that is a bad thing. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is sweet, with roasted grains and malts. Touch of spice and hop bitterness. So far this is a nice, inviting brew, now for the taste. The taste is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on the Roasted grains and malts, then the spices. There is also a nice mild sweetness to this Porter. Horchata Porter has a lot going on in Horchata Porter. The body is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down. This brew would go nice with dinner, or on a cool day. The mouth feel is Bold, Roasted, Rich, Sweet, Spicy, Clean Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I'm going to give Horchata Porter a solid 4 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Ensenada Brewing Co., Brewing company did a real nice job with this brew.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of alcohol, roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, and yeast. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a discernible dryness. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, yeast, sweet citrus, and a hint of hops. Overall, good distinct body and aroma, weak appearance, and good blend.

330 ml bottle into a Porter Bar goblet. 2014 date stamp.
The reddish-brown body pours near black and is opaque in the glass. There's a decent size head but it's too bubbly and short-lived.
Aroma: sweet, spicy and fairly complex.
Flavor: also spicy and fairly complex. Lightly sweet. The flavors include cinnamon, vanilla, dark bread and chocolate.
Overall: interesting, spicy, sweet porter.

L- Pitch black body. Very creamy and prominent tan head, nice persistence.
S- As expected by the name it has a rich cinnamon and vanilla smell. Could also feel a slight toasted malt note.
T- Lots of cinnamon, maybe a bit too much, also vanilla. Leaves a dark roasted aftertaste.
F- Medium.
O- Lives up to expectation but cinnamon was overused in flavor. Could've been better.

Appearance is a hot chocolate brown with tan head and nice lacing.
Nose is musty and sweet, like a chocolate bar left in the cupboard. There is also prune and rice pudding.
Taste is murky and sour, with some sweet malt and brown sugar. Not much horchata flavor.
Mouthfeel is fine, with good carbonation.
Overall, flavor is weak and not unique. Not a lot of reason to try this one.

This is one of the worst beers I´ve tasted. Smells very good with those chocolate and coffee notes, some spices. but tastes sour and acid, soapy and astringent one sip and then to the drain. :/

Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, vanilla bean, and cinnamon aromas. Taste is much the same with char, cocoa, vanilla bean, and slight cinnamon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that has some pretty solid vanilla and cinnamon aspects, but they come across the tiniest bit artificial to me.
