Vom fass at Schwabengarten in Leinfelden (Stuttgart) on a properly hot day in early July. It’s so hot that the Biergarten isn’t even close to full on a Saturday afternoon. This is a summer seasonal so I was happy to see it on the menu but it’s a bit disappointing. It’s just flat on flavor. There’s some hop flavor in it but really it just drinks poorly. Not bad on a hot day but really lacking overall. This brewery is consistently mediocre and it’s wild to me that it can sustain business. It’s ubiquitous in Stuttgart, though, so they must tolerate mediocre beer (unlike Bavaria), which is odd because Biergarten culture is so strong here compared to northern Germany.
