This beefy beast was enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's in Eastgate in a snifter.
Pouring a clear dark amber with a thick white head of foam that settles to a thick ring
with a thin pool this strong ale verging on a barley wine is more than inviting. Nose is
simple enough with sweet bourbon, vanilla, and brown sugar notes. Flavors surpass
the nose and hit the WHOA factor----subtle nutty notes from the pecans hit on the sides
while warming bourbon and brown sugars collide with notes of oak and subtle cherry flavors
mixed with a touch of milk chocolate. Very reminiscent of bourbon balls. Excellent mouth feel,
warm and finishing sweet with a pleasant bourbon note on the aftertaste. Of all the bourbon forward
brews out there this has the words BALANCED emblazoned on it. Excellent!
Cheers
