The most popular beer. Originally brewed to welcome home those men who fought in the First World War. It is a traditional sweet Cornish bitter, with an unforgettable flavour.

The beer have a red cherry color, deep and clear. White foam with a too many bubbles (but the second round is more compact).
At the smell you can feel a malty aroma and a strong caramel, then comes up the typical grassy hops (leaves), and a final of gooseberries.
The taste is clean and balanced with notes of sweet (caramel) and bitter (herbaceous and a drizzle of resin) well-balanced (maybe it is little watering). Even the aftertaste shows the balance between sweet and bitter, with a more marked effect of tea leaves.
Base beer for the brewpub, but certainly a beer that does not leave cold: pleasant and to drink buckets.

This is claimed to be the oldest brewery in England, and they have just recently started bottling. This 500ml bottle was brought to me across the Atlantic by my sister, so not sure if the traveling affected the beer or not.
This is a traditional Sweet cornish beer with some slight hints of tartness.
A - Copper colored ale, poured out of the bottle with a good head.
S - very yeasty, with malt undertones.
T - sweetness with a very very minor hint or tartness, and bitterness from the hops.
M - good feel, with plenty of carbonation.
D - Very drinkable, and thirst quenching.
Overall a good "honest" ale, from my hometown, down in Cornwall.
Note : The labeling states 5.0%ABV.
