L: Poured from a growler to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Sparse lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of bourbon, malt, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruit, and wood.

T: Tasted of a hint of vanilla (less than expected, but definitely present), a good amount of chocolate (always a good thing), a lot of bourbon (and its accompanying barrel), some malt (present throughout, though very subtle), and a bit of dark fruit (dates, in particular). A solidly done, focused flavor. Quite tasty.

F: A so-so amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A rock solid stout. Worth a look.
