A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering a little more than 95% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with moderate to heavy amounts of lactose sweetness. Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of milk chocolate/cacao nibs + coffee along with light to moderate aromas of vanilla + coconut. Hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with moderate to heavy amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of milk chocolate/cacao nibs + coffee along with light to moderate flavors of vanilla + coconut. Finally there is a hint of earthy hops and a slightly heavier than light amount of roasty bitterness which is quickly overtaken by the lingering moderate sweet milk chocolate flavors.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy.
O: Drinks very easily considering the strength and a pleasantly full mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a fair amount of complexity and sweetness without being cloying and definitely an enjoyable after dinner beer.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Average lacing.
S: A solid aroma of chocolate, coconut, vanilla, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, and booze.
T: Tasted of a bit of coffee (more subtle than expected), a definite boozy presence (not overly obnoxious, though), some chocolate notes (pretty sweet), a decent bit of roasted malt (present throughout, but subtle), light caramel notes, a good shot of coconut, and a hint of vanilla. This is a well-constructed, solid, likable flavor. Pretty tasty.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A nicely done stout. Worth a try.
