This barrel-aged porter arrives as a snifter full of blackness. A wee ring of off-white foam around the glass escorts the liquid down with nary a remnant left behind.
Smell is a malty camp fire, my mouth is watering in anticipation.
Taste is toasted malt, some wood, hint of vanilla, some chocolate. By far the best balance in a Big Top beer so far. Stunning.
Smooth, drying, medium plus body with a light effervescence. Damned good brew.
