A snifter full of black with just a wee brown head appears in front of me. The head disappears almost instantly and leave no lace behind.
Smell is mild with notes of burnt toast and coffee.
Taste is roasted malt, toffee, caramel, nuts with some burnt toast showing in the aftertaste. Well balanced.
Medium + body, light effervescence. Pretty smooth but not creamy, dry finish. Can not tell it's 9.0 %.
After warming, the smell adds a nice sweet toffee note and the taste gets a buttery note. Both scores raised as is the mouthfeel. Well worth the wait to get the full monty.
