Wow, just wow. I've had several cream ales previously but nothing like this, not really a fan of the style up to this point.
Dark amber with orange throughout under a creamy, off-white head. Retention is good, keeping a thin film for 30 minutes or more.
Smell knocks the socks off. Huge vanilla note, buttery, lightly toasted malt.
Taste is all that with more balance, vanilla, malts, bread, butter, hops (light), faint fruit note, too.
Creamy, smooth, medium bodied with a well restrained carbonation. Warming post-swallow with a drying finish. If all cream ales were like this, I'd drink a lot more of them.
