I was hoping for a a bit of 'P', 'B', or 'J', and I didn't get not a one...
Visually speaking it was a very nice brew to behold - light copperish color liquid with the best foam and lacing I have seen in quite some time - good staying power on the foam, very good. The rest of this nicely named ale was a tad of a let down. The smell was nothing but bready, mouthfeel was carbonated but bland (if you can somehow imagine that), and the taste was barely anything resembling peanut butter or jelly. This wasn't a a terrible beer, by far, it just didn't live up to its advertisement in my book...

on tap at old soul brewing company in fort myers, i had a hard time with this one. these flavors in a pale ale is new to me and so i was intrigued, but it sure tastes cheap and sort of fake to me, with a powdered peanuty butter thing that seems thin and devoid of real peanut flavor, and a generic sort of sweetness that doesnt pass for the jelly component, at least to me. that said, i have to give these guys a lot of credit for trying something weird, even if it is a bit of a miss. the beer is clearish and blonde, unexpected for peanut butter and jelly and it has a dusty papery peanut sort of nose, but it feels forced to me. the pale ale part is weird too because i can still get the base malt in the flavor and even some hops in the end, which arent all the way meshing in. some sweetness and some weird nutty bitterness at the end, slightly slick and oily too despite the not real peanut character. somehow my brother thought this was pretty decent, but i could hardly stomach it after a few sips. a lousy and unfortunate introduction to a brewery who seems to be doing some pretty neat stuff...

12 ounce bottle in Florida.
Appearance: Pours with a hazy amber body with a fairly durable white head. Plenty of sticky lacing.
Aroma: Fruity with a hint of jelly and light bread but only faint peanut butter.
Flavor: Subtle PB&J. Near moderately bitter finish with some grapefruit peel in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Smooth.

Can poured into a snifter. Red tinted straw with a barely pinkish hued head. Foamy and settles into a thin cap.
Aroma bursts with peanuts and a hint of jammy fruit over a background of citrus hops.
Jam comes forward as it warms, mixes nicely with peanut flavor. Taste is surprisingly accurate and does not taste fake. Odd combo's for a pale ale, but somehow it works.
Moderate carbonation and medium body.
Really interesting brew. Aroma is its best characteristic. Enjoyable.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Teku glass.
Appearances: Amber-orange body with a thin cap of white bubbles on top that leaves behind whisks of lacing in the glass.
Aroma: Ridiculous! Smells just like a PB&J sandwich. Tons of peanut and raspberry jam.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Taste definitely follows through with the aroma. But with a hoppiness that adds some bitterness to offset the sweetness.
Overall: It seemed gimmicky but that's why I bought it. Pleasantly surprised by the aroma and taste. Not sure if I would drink more than one in a sitting but definitely worth the try, really well done.

Big Top makes big, fun flavors. Yes, it;s a bit of a gimmick, but I'm enjoying. Even the smell is a lot like an elementary school sandwich, the taste is lower key. If I were at Big Top, I'd bring a bottle home.
