Bought because I had not seen this title before, I like to support local brewers, Old Deerfield is a favorite place and I enjoy hoppy ales. Also interested to see if the "100% North East Grown Hops, Grain and Water" produced a good result.
Poured from the 22 oz. bottle into a Lawson's stemmed tulip.
a: Clear amber with a soapy-looking uneven white head which receded slowly under spotty lacing.
s: Surprisingly mild, perhaps a bit floral.
t: Bitter piney hops up front over a medium bready malt base. Dry and at first somewhat bitter finish. It mellows later, and slight grassy and then definite and pleasant floral notes develop as it warms.
m: Medium with good body and heavy carbonation tingle.
o: An interesting IPA, the low ABV makes it sessionable, although at first the hops bitterness is not accompanied by a lot of flavor, Still it's quite drinkable, definitely hoppy, and eventually becomes pretty enjoyable.
