This lovely bottle was a gift from Emily and Ted. They had recently moved from New York City to Pittsfield MA. It ended up taking a while on the bottle transfer (I visit my relatives in MA every few months). It's a lovely brew. I figured this would sit OK a little while and it did.
It pours a lovely dark brown with tan head (lots of it). The aroma is that German style hop water smell that improves with warming. The taste is a rich, bitter, roasty, and thick take on the style. This is a no compromise beer and a major success. I am glad I decided not to share this, though it is a serious 500ml drink.
Highly recommended. It will be dificult for me to get more brews from this brewer, but I would welcome them. Onkle Bob really liked that one, thanks.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into the test glass
A - Deep mahagony brown, hard to peer through, the carbonation feeds a beautiful, lasting mocha cap
S - Roast malts, a hint of caramel, dark toast with a bit of brown sugar.
T - Again with the dark toast, but add some dark fruit, a hint of raisin, and again with that kiss of brown sugar.
A bit of alcohol in the mix
M - Medium in body, but with delicate presence, avoids the sweet trap. Clean and delightful dry finish, and a slight alcohol exhale.
O - A very good offering, with a beautiful clean texture. Flavors are in a tight, focused band that keep the style in mind.
Well done
