Something different in every mouthful, this beer is inspired by the odd mishmash that is trail mix - chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit - to celebrate the pioneering spirit of those who opt to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. We use fresh ingredients and a complementary grain bill to accentuate the various flavors.

Currently listed as an APA, I would call this a brown ale.
This was a pleasant combination of subdued flavors back by a toasty brown ale base. I tasted cocoa, nuts, and subtle fruit notes. Very different and a pleasure to drink, thanks Eric!

Thanks Dan for opening this bottle last night. No idea this brewery packaged their beers. Full review to notes last night.
A- Red brown pour from the bottle to a few glasses. A small foamy tan head ends at around a half finger with decent retention. Lacing from the puffy band is rare.
S- Earthy and brown malts come to mind. Toasted nuts and graham crackers along with some dark cocoa powder. Something fruity like ripe apples or grapes.
T- Once again toasty and somewhat roasted with a note of dark cocoa and cereal grains. Slightly buttery with a ripe apple and pale fruit note kind of like certain English yeast. Bready, caramel, brown sugar, nutty and crystal grain notes. Fairly sweet.
MF- Thin bodied right off the bat but it feels like an English Ale at times so it doesn't upset the experience that much. Carbonation level right down the middle. Light bitterness.
Earthy ale with a mostly toasty and nutty character joined by slight roast and a decent note of dark dried fruits. Reminds me a bit of cereal and trail mix dusted with cocoa.
