A new one for me. Not anything special but certainly a drinkable IPA. I would not hesitate to have it again. I was surprised at the low ratings it got. Cheers !

Look: Dark gold, slightly cloudy. 2 fingers of white head with decent retention.

Smell: Very citrusy and fruity. Orange, pineapple, guava.

Taste: Starts with a mild tropic fruit hop flavor and a little sweet malt, which fades almost immediately to leave a long, lingering bitterness on the tongue.

Mouthfeel: Average body with mediocre carbonation.

Overall: Barely an IPA, this is a mediocre beverage that vacillates between dull and unpleasant.

This is a pale ale with a high alcohol content making it an "IPA". If you are looking for lots of hops, you will be disappointed. It's not an awful, just labeled poorly.

Looked great. Label looked great. Great name. Almost no taste. They listed the IBUs which I believe we 60+... but it had no hope flavor at all. Avoid this

Poured a cloudy orange-gold body with minimal head and lace ring down the glass. The aroma is citrusy but mostly a dirty acidity with minimal earthiness. Dirty, dry, earthy, this fuller bodied beer is mostly a hoppy mess with only hints of malty sweetness and finishes dry.

Please be wary of this beer. I would not waist money on it.

I wish someone would have posted this for me when I was at the beach trying to decide on a local IPA. I am from Atlanta home of Scofflaw, Terrapin, Creature Comforts, Sweetwater... the list of great breweries actually goes on and on.

I know absolutely nothing about brewing beer. This beer taste like I brewed it.

There needs to be two political groups: those who like a head on their beer, and those that don't. I do not like a head on my beer for several reasons. Firstly, if you grew up poor as hell like I did, a head amounted to being ripped off of what you ordered. Secondly, a head sort of destroyed the whole gustatory experience.. you can't drink a beer with a head without inhaling the damn head. Third, the flavor and aroma of the head is usually totally different than the beer itself. Imagine putting a good wine in a blender on high speed, and then drinking it. You do not need so much dang protein in your foam. I can go to the beach for that.

Ok... Not sure I understand all the negativity here...maybe it's because I'm from out of town, it's snowing back home and I'm sitting on a patio in 70 degree weather drinking this fine beverage... Nice hazy IPA. See it, buy it.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly cloudy amber color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malt and hops. The taste matches the nose.

Lots of head on this, started foaming as soon as I opened it and just kept going. Only able to get about 3/4 of the can poured into the glass.

Hazy ochre colored smells a little of Carmel and biscuits. Doesn't taste like it smells just not a fan. I have 5 more cans, so maybe it will grow on me but right now I'm thinking ugh I still have 5 cans of this.

Lighter straw yellow body, not much head or retention. Pine throughout, minimal caramel, not too much in way of hop character, a bit of straw. Lighter body, fair carbonation. A fairly forgettable, although not horrible, IPA.

Bimini Twist IPA ABV 7.00%, IBU 82 (according to can) is a good well balanced IPA, malty and hoppy. A friend sent it to me.

Look: hazy golden hue with an inch thick bubbly white head.

Aroma: grapefruit and pine

Taste: Caramel, crackers, grapefruit, and pine resin.

Feel: light to medium body.

12 oz can poured into one of my imperial pint glasses, the beer is copper with a light tan head.

It has an aroma of citrus and caramel malts and something a bit earthy.

The taste is nicely bitter but I question the 82 IBUs on the car. Either my beer has faded a bit (canned 3 months ago) or I’m just not picking it up. There is a bit of cracker like malts to balance the pine and citrus. That earthy thing from the smell is evident in the finish. I’m not sure what it is but I’m not digging it, however it is just a minor distraction.
The mouth is slick and touch oily which is nice.

My first beer from these ladies, I would have no problem exploring their other offerings.

12oz can dated 4/12/17 poured into a hotel water glass
A: Orange/light brown with a one-finger head
S: Lots of malts with light citrus/tropical fruit
T: Matches the nose- the slightly sweet malts take the front stage with a lighter citrus midpalate than a slightly stronger pine on the finish
M: Medium-bodied, light but noticeable sweetness and bitterness
O: Fits the IPA style but it needs to tone down the malt/sweetness to let the hops shine

Poured from a 12 oz can (01/18/17) ,into a Cigar City spiegelau IPA glass.

Thick creamy white colored head that stands 2 fingers tall with heavy lacing ,and patching.Deep hazy copper colored body, with medium clarity and medium carbonation.

On the nose I get pine, citrus, and sweet bread malt notes after the pour.Once the pour dies down it takes on much more of a malty scent, almost to the point that it smells like malt liquor. After about 5-10 minutes of drinking it takes on more of a dank aroma, and not in a good way.It almost starts to smell like rotten cheese,or smelly feet.

On the palate I get heavy malt up front, with a strong dose of bitter hoppy pine on the back end.The hops are pretty intense, but they almost taste generic,or manufactured,if that makes any sense. And again the taste starts to take a dank form a couple minutes into the beer, almost like rotten cheese. Also getting some apple flavors, but they are a little off putting.Lots of hoppy floral notes, but not enough to save it.

The mouth feel is medium heavy, with a sticky texture.Good amount of carbonation on the tongue, and a dry finish.

I'm usually pretty generous with my ratings, and even an overall 3 may be a little too generous.I really can't recommend this beer, and definitely will not buy it again.I really wish I didn't buy a 6 pack before trying 1 first.

Live near the brewery but I just picked up a 6-pack at Target.

Look: Like beer. Decent head, no special coloring.
Nose: Fuggle or Williamette hops; sort of out of place in an IPA as these hops are typically reserved for brown ales or porters. No strong typical american IPA "pinecone on steroids" aroma.
Taste: Kind of like the hops; earthy? Some maltiness in there.
Feel: Unremarkable.
Overall: On the side of the can it describes the taste as "a balance of malt and hops". This description is not inaccurate. But oh my god, this beer is so average. The best part of this beer is the 7% ABV, but aside from that I didn't take a sip and think "Wow, this would go so well with a spicy curry!" or anything like I typically do with other IPA's.

3 Daughters is local to me, and I've heard their actual brewery is great (perhaps on tap this beer shines even more?) but I shan't be purchasing this one again. I mean, I'd pick it over bud light or yuengling for days but given other options, not again.

Straight forward, bitterly balanced, malty and quite sensible, Florida's 3 Daughters brewing team embarks on an IPA that has a taste and texture that's familiar to craft beer drinkers even twenty years ago. Its a time honored session that has a place on hop-head's palates of any era.

Bimini Twist has a spicy, grassy, floral scent with tethers of grapefruit, bitter orange and pine leading the way. Buried deep within its hazy amber aesthetics and underneath its frothy eggshell cap lies a malty taste that's of caramel, biscuit, toasted savoriness, pecan and light honey.

With the sweet grip firmly around the tongue, the hoppy rebuttal simmers into a fruity, herbal and piney finish. Pink grapefruit, orange peel and red apple align on the palate ahead of the bitterness of pine, spicy peppercorn, a kiss of ginger and fresh-cut grass before dropping off to a resinous, piney grip on the gullet.

Trailing with light hop-derived astringency and a lumbering malt balance, the beer's even-keel flavor only prefers the hops slightly as the medium-bodied beer extends into the throat with the bitterness of grapefruit peel, pine and pepper. Bimini Twist is a throwback to the types of IPA that put an "American" thumbprint on the style in the Portland, Oregon area a couple decades ago- a familiar, welcomed but unrefined charm.

Bimini Twist IPA has a very thick, bone-colored head, a hazy, gold-orange appearance, lots of powdery sediment, and some lacing splotches left behind on the glass. The aroma is of funky, yeasty bread and dried fruit cake fruits. Taste is similar, with a true 82 IBU, but it comes across is a mellow, bitter way, as some high IBU beers will do. Mouthfeel is medium, and Bimini Twist IPA finishes dry and very English.

12oz can purchased on recent trip to St. Pete area. Poured into dogfish head pint glass.
A: Pours a medium copper orange body, two finger slightly off white dense foam head, carbonation, nice strips of stringy lacing. The can has a cool logo and caught my eye as I am a fisherman.
S: sweet malt, citrus, mango, orange, slight booziness
M: medium body with slight oily resin in the finish
T: Citrus up front, malty in the middle, biscuit, grapefruit rind, pine resin, boozy toward the finish with bitter hops lingering too.
O: This brew is okay and seems like the balance of hops is heavy for a single IPA and the alcohol is a little to forward for my liking. Glad I tried it and looking to trying more brews from 3 Daughters....

Poured into a tulip glass. Thanks, Shannon.

A: A clear golden/amber with frothy white one-finger head that dissipated to foamy lace.

S: Citrus notes of peach and mango. Earthy, almost funky.

T: A nice, smooth summer drink. Peach and mango combined with low bitterness with a bit of crackery malt on the finish.

M: Low to medium with medium carbonation.

O: Nothing special, but not bad either. An easy drinker.

Picked up at the local liquor store here in Key Largo while visiting my parents on vacation. Colorful blue and green can with no discernable image. Pours a dull copper with adequate but not terribly impressive head. Nose is citrus and fairly aggressive booze for the abv.

The alcohol carries into the taste, accompanied by grapefruit and pine. There is a little biscuit in the aftertaste as well as some grassiness but a reasonably thin mouthfeel leaves the booze front and center.

This is okay but probably not something I'd look for again considering the plethora of superior IPAs availble, even here in the sunshine state.

Huh. Another questionable Florida craft brew. And we started out with mostly winners.

This one starts a cloudy yellow with a thin head. The aroma is a faint funky hoppy. The taste is a yeasty funky bitter mess. The can is probably too old, but they don't get a pass. There is a shot fruity taste under the hoppy ipa.

I can't recommend this.

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours amber in color with golden highlights. It is topped with two inches of beige head that leaves some nice lacing.

I smell caramel malt with not much in the way of hops.

The taste is a balance of caramel malt and bitterness, not a good bitterness, just bitterness for bitterness sake.

Medium mouthfeel

I had a friend pick some beers out for me on his trip in Florida. I should have given him guidance.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a quarter finger high frothy white head that died down but left a short head that nearly covered most of the surface.
S: Faint aromas of caramel malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of caramel malts along with faint bits of citrusy hops and a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No crispness is present.
O: This beer tastes a lot more like an APA than an IPA since there aren't that much in the way of hops.
