Tasted on tap at James Joyce Pub in Tampa, FL.
Dark brown beer, but not super dark or opaque as expected for a porter. Wispy, light tan head. Some barrel aromas and just a hint of the coffee and chocolate that should be expected. Flavors are herbal and medicinal, without much of the chocolate or coffee that should be hallmarks for a porter. I can't identify bourbon in particular, or even oak. Thin body. Moderate carbonation and low hops bitterness are appropriate.
This was a drinkable, but disappointing beer, mostly because the base style of porter is not well executed.

Very thin for a barrel aged porter, has the classic coffee and baker's chocolate taste, didn't pick up any bourbon notes. Was hoping for a bit more robustness in this beer.

Pros- easy drinking, cheap ($10-6pk), strong abv for the price
Cons- very thin mouthfeel for a BA beer, minimal oak/bourbon presence, good for a crushable dark beer but below average if classified as a BA porter.
Buy kbs or bourbon county stout if you have the money, this will do if your beer funds are low.

Super thin. Must have only been in the barrel a day. Taste like a light dark ale with a touch of vanilla but at 9.5%.

Pours a black color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is roasted malts. Tastes sweet; vanilla, caramel and alcohol. A bit thin for a barrel aged beer.

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace. The aroma is a mix of caramel/toffee/butterscotch(?) maltiness along with booziness. This beer is hot, as in "put hair on your chest" hot, with a caramel/toffee almost vanilla sweetness and some woody smoothness in a medium bodied beer that finishes hot. Can't say this beer was terrible, but it wasn't what I was expecting nor one I would seek out a second time.
