A - pitch black but seemingly high clarity body. Low almost nonexistent head in a dark oak brown. No lacing. 3.25
S - bubble gum. Lightly roasted Green tea. Nutmeg. Roasted barley. Tobacco. 4.5
T - Smokey cedar. Cardamom. Tobacco. Hints of cinamon. Delightful. Complex. Not faint of heart or lacking in depth. 4.5
M - slightly watery and a bit alkaline aftertaste. 3.25
O - the lack luster head had me suspicious, but the aromas and flavors made up for it. Delicious beer that deserves to be pared with hearty smelly haggis. 4.25

Poured a dark mahogany with a one finger head that left a curtain of lace.
Nutty caramel on the nose and palate. Slightly boozy spicy toasted nut finish. A little more caramel sweetness as it warms.
Low carbonation and a slightly crisp mouthfeel.
I look forward to exploring this wonderful style even more in the future. Cheers!

Pours an opaque super dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, roasted nut, and slight smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, and nut flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but the mix of toast, caramel, and nut aromas on this one is slightly better to me.
