Interestingly malty. Tangy and perfumey. What is that aroma? In a flash from the past, it reminds me of the smell of the swallowtail butterfly caterpillars I was raising on wild anise from our canyon.
After that, it seems like a bigger and fruitier Blonde than you might expect to find. Quite beautiful pile of suds on the light amber brew in the Maredsous goblet. Silky mouthfeel. Grainy with a cereal taste. Slightly bitter aftertaste and that winey, fruity, malty insistency that seemsy to be the hallmark of Legacy. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the brewery taproom in Oceanside.
