16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy deep golden/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, cookies, honey, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of fruit, wood, pepper, pine, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bready malts, cocoa, coffee, lactose, vanilla, cookies, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, cookies, honey, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of fruit, wood, pepper, pine, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, cookies, honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, fruit, wood, pepper, pine, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts, cocoa, coffee, lactose, vanilla, cookies, light-moderate earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 7.9%. Overall this is an awesome flavored white/sweet stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts, cocoa, coffee, lactose, vanilla, cookies, light-moderate earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish; nicely soft feel, and not aggressive. Awesome balance between rich malts, cocoa, coffee, lactose, vanilla, and authentic cookie flavors; with balancing earthy hops. Lightly sweet with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Liked this just as much as the session version.
