My first Wood Buffalo brew, sampled on tap at Vicky's in Sherwood Park. Overall, this is a nice understated pale ale. It trends toward bready malt, and reminded me of stoned wheat thins. Overall, a pleasant find when I had already prepared myself for a night of drinking Keith's.

16oz glass at Beer Revolution Oliver Square in Edmonton.
This beer appears a clear, glassy medium bronzed amber colour, with one finger of puffy, frothy, and slightly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some holey limestone wall lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.
It smells of grainy, crackery pale malt, subtle orange and white grapefruit citrus rind, a hard water flintiness, a bit of further indistinct Jolly Rancher fruitiness, and tame leafy, piney hops. The taste is bready, doughy pale malt, a touch of grainy caramel, faint estery yeast, soft muddled citrus and weedy, pine cone-esque hops, a bit of free agent sugar, and a fading wet stone character.
The carbonation is light and fluffy in its gentle frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess. It finishes off-dry, but trending towards the former, as the lingering malt exhibits a nascent pastry sweetness.
A pleasant, easy-drinking Americanized pale ale, with the hops not pressing their case too much, which is just how I like 'em. Nice to know that if I am ever marooned in Fort Mac, I can at least expect some agreeable local brew.
