10 oz. on draft in a stemless wine glass type thing at Thirsty Pig.
Appearance: Jet black with a one-finger tan head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma: Coffee and dark chocolate with some alcohol present.
Taste: Really tasty boozy coffee. Slight cream note. Booze is definitely there. Dark malts are noticeable but coffee dominates. Chocolate is also there.
Mouthfeel: Creamy and full. Kind of has the consistency of a really good iced coffee. It's better though.
Overall: Good stuff. Effective boozed up version of its younger cousin. Would gladly have either at any time.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass.
Pours thick and dark with a nice chocolate head that dissipates fairly quickly.
The nose is sweet and sugary with notes of chocolate, coffee, wood and smoke. There is also a slight hint of alcohol.
Hits the plate strong with sweet dark fruits, maple that give way to oak and whiskey flavors. A very slight alcohol burn is left settling on the tongue with a maple sweetness lingering in the mouth.
I found this to be an exceptional beer.
