This one pours a fairly dark black, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells very strongly of whiskey, with heavy oak spice, piney hops, dark chocolate, and a shot of espresso.
Most barrel aged stouts under about 9% or so tend to be thin watery messes for me- so this is a nice refreshing change of pace. It's certainly not thick or big, but it's not thin, and the base stands up well to whiskey assault this beer provides. There's lots of oak, and lots of spirit here- it's spicy, boozy, and warming. There's some nice dark chocolate on the back end, with a bit of roasty coffee bitterness.
This is medium bodied, not super thick, but definitely not thin, luckily. It's surprisingly drinkable.
As far as I can recall, this is my first non hoppy beer from Bissell Bros. It's a nice offering for sure.

10 oz pour on tap
A: Big fat silky creamy looking off white head body is a rich deep black
S: Lots of Bourbon. The nose is more muted Bourbon and chocolate
Lots of sharp Bourbon and leather chocolate and A little hoppy chocolate bite.
M: good mouthfeel even with the Bourbon it has a nice thickness.
O: Beer tastes more like a stout with a splash of whiskey added. It really isn't that good of a BA beer, the base beer is much better by itself.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Very strong bourbon taste profile. Almost overpowering the subtle vanilla and chocolate notes. Definitely a lighter mouth feel.

Black beer with small tan head. Aroma of oak, chocolate and roast malt. Full, creamy body with mild carbonation. Flavors of milk chocolate, oak, vanilla, roast malt. Lingering chocolate when gone. Delicious dessert beer.
