Pours jet black. Aroma is bourbon front and center. Taste is full bodied and complex. It’s Umbra on steroids. A perfect stout to sip on and savor.

Smooth.... Flavors of vanilla, oak. A very nice mouth feel. Not over powering in any way for a barreled stout. Very enjoyable. Warm Fire, Nice cigar, and a sigil 1... couldn't get much better.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a spiegelau glass.
Pours a pitch black color with 2 fingers of effervescent caramel head. The head is gone very quickly, leaving very little in the way of lacing before settling into a thin halo.
The aroma is full of oak and vanilla, as well as a ton of chocolate and dark roasted malts. The back end brings lighter notes of caramel, molasses, and fig.
The oak and vanilla take more of a passenger seat with the flavor, letting the chocolate and dark roasted grains take the wheel. There's plenty of caramel and a hint of cinnamon on the finish.
The feel is full bodied with lighter carbonation. Very smooth and creamy, with some subtle warming from the alcohol.
Overall, a great barrel aged stout that doesn't shove the fact that it's barrel aged down your throat. It's far more subtle than the typical BBA stout and the oatmeal gives the feel a soft creaminess to balance out the harshness of the alcohol. Can't wait to try more from this series.
