This annual holiday release is a blend of porters - all barrel-aged, some refermented with maple syrup. A friendly reminder that this beer is NOT meant to be aged - We have already done that for you :-) . Please consume at some point during this winter for the optimal maple flavors we've built into it to stay true.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. THe beer pours a dark chocolate brown color with some beige colored head of about .5 cm. These bubbles fade quickly to the thinnest of edge layers.
The aroma is some chocolate malt and a lot of bourbon and vanilla with a bit of maple syrup as well. Not really any heat but the depth and boldness of the nose hints that it is a big beer. I also dont really get too much of a hop character on the nose.
First sip reveals a fairly thick body with slightly sticky texture and fine tingly carbonation. Pretty robust physical traits on this beer.
FLavor is lots of malt with dark chocolate, some brown sugar, a good dose of vanilla and bourbon. A fairly sweet flavor profile overall, with well hidden alcohol and buried hop notes. I do get some lingering chocolate and molasses after each swallow.
QUite a complex and malt dominant brew. I am glad to have had the opportunity, thanks Schuee!
well worth it if you like bigger malt forward brews.

L -- Black body with a small tan head that retains and laces OK
S -- Coconut, vanilla, milk chocolate, maple
T -- Sweet cloying maple, milk chocolate, coconut, almond milk, nougat. Getting practically no barrel character
F -- Medium mouthfeel, medium carb. Sweeeeeeet flavor profile. Barrel aging smoothes things out a bit here
O -- A bit too sweet, but has a nice decadent dessert quality throughout that really works in the aromas
83/100

Ridiculously good for a porter, mind you the barrel aging does wonders, but this brew is incredibly tasty and very complex. The heat keeps it from being super smooth, but the aroma and flavor are so good and full of sweet malty notes, maple syrup, molasses, rum, dark chocolate, brown sugar, faint piney hops and cookie dough or a sweet cocoa infused treat. Really enjoyed it and nursed it as it got better as it warmed up.

Pours jet black with at first a 2 finger dark tan head that quickly recedes to a single finger head the sticks around a little bit. Very little lacing. Maple leads the aroma with chocolate and coffee notes. Smooth, maple-sweet and refined taste with chocolate and bourbon leading the way. Moderate to light body feels great and the ABV is there but not a disruption at all. Enjoyed this one very much.

Dark brown body with minimal head.
Smell is chocolate covered banana while taste adds sweet mocha coffee with dark chocolate and vanilla over a light body that's smooth and slick finishing dry yet bubbly.
